In the European version of roulette, the wheel has 37 pockets, numbered from 0 to 36, and this standard is used in most places around the world. However, in America, the wheel has 38 slots. This is because an extra double-zero pocket is added.
The house edge on a single-zero roulette wheel is 2.7%, and that on a double-zero roulette wheel is 5.26%.
There is also one more, rarer version of the roulette wheel, a triple-zero wheel. If you ever see a triple-zero wheel variation, know that that is the most unfavorable version of roulette for you, carrying the house edge of 7.67%.
