Advanced Craps Strategies

The strategy you choose when playing craps must rely on your skills, bankroll, and level of experience. The best strategy is the one that minimizes the house edge and gives you a better chance of landing.

Here, we talk about strategies for players who have previous experience backing them up and bigger bankrolls.

3 Point Molly

This is as aggressive a strategy as they come, lowering the house edge as you go. You place maximum odds on multiple bets with a higher chance of landing and a low house edge. You keep making Pass or Come bets to mitigate potential losses when winning small until you have at least three bets backing them up with full odds.

Field Bet

Here, you bet on the shooter. This strategy is a one-roll bet and shouldn’t be used long-term at the craps table. Wait for the Point to be made and call the Field Bet (often used as a part of the Iron Cross strategy), which means you wait for any number other than 5, 6, 7, and 8 to land.

Hi-Lo (-Yo)

These are also bets that aren’t meant to be long-term, for the house edge can be over 11%.

  • With Hi-Lo, you bet on the shooter landing 2 or 12. The chances of landing them are very slim, as 2 and 12 are the smallest and biggest numbers in the game.
  • Hi-Lo-Yo, the bet with lesser risk; this time, you bet on the shooter to roll 2, 11, or 12.
